Real Estate 101 with Karey Brown
Meet Kisha Steineger! Kisha has spent years of her career focusing on helping her clients choose their next step. Whether it’s staying in their home and receiving assistance such as rides to doctor visits or to get groceries she can help. Most stay in their home as long as possible and there is nothing wrong with that. Once they are ready to move they tend to go to a Memory Care, Assisted care or an independent living facility. Kisha was my guest on Real Estate 101 Radio Show. The shows are below.
What Is Your Plan?
There are so many things to think about when you start planning for your future it helps to have the correct team in place. Kisha is a part of that team. She will go with you tour multiple facilities. It’s especially difficult when you are having to assist parents in this process. It’s great to have someone who has spent years touring multiple facilities. A clear perspective is vital to see red flags and positives. Kisha, also, has the first hand experiences from prior clients.
One of the things I’ve learned is there are some great retirement communities. There are some with events every single day of the year. They celebrate everyday. I know leaving home can be difficult but so can being alone. Imagine a community that keeps you active with exercise, bridge club, Mardi Grau’s, Pie Cooking contest, dances and tiki bars. We have those in Topeka. Most think they cannot afford them but when you take home maintenance, utility bills, groceries, home owners insurance and multiple other expenses you’d be surprised by the cost alignment.
There are several people to have on your team. You really don’t have to make these decisions alone. I’ve had several great sources on the show and I hope they are helpful!
